چکیده
Abstract Background Inguinal hernia recurrences (IHR) are relatively common and have higher complexity complication risk at reoperation when compared with primary inguinal hernias (PIH). This study aims to further characterize the patterns of recurrence early complications observed by type repair index surgery. Methods After REB approval, a review charts from patients undergoing elective first for IHR 2013–2017 was performed. First operations were classified as: childhood repair, laparoscopic open tissue mesh Shouldice repair. Early included hematoma, infection seroma. Statistical analyses completed. Results A total 1281 underwent 1340 surgeries in period (4.9% all operated). There wa an increased proportion males, direct wound group (p<.001) PIH repairs. During surgical procedure, length surgery longer, scarring tissues heavier, nerve identification lower previous repairs, comparison other groups (childhood, - p<.001). Conclusion Recurrent repairs present than incurr chances postoperative complications. The technique influences difficulties encountered reoperation, techniques being associated difficulty. information may help planning, according anticipated leverl procedure

COLLECTIVE REVIEWS Management of Recurrent Inguinal Hernias
The ultimate measure of success of inguinal hernia repair is the rate of recurrence. Although other procedure-related complications are important and have been shown to affect healthrelated quality-of-life parameters, recurrence is more challenging for the patients and the surgeon. From the patients’ perspective, the initial physical and mental investment in the operation has failed. A new inve...

The study was registered at clinicaltrials.gov (NCT0037374), and we apologize if the information was not made clear in the original submission. In the same regard, a pre-trial power analysis was not performed. Indeed, trying to define a significant difference in an outcome for which we had no information what to expect, was in our opinion in the very definition of new observational study, even ...

BACKGROUND Recurrences have been a significant problem following hernia repair. Prosthetic materials have been increasingly used in hernia repair to prevent recurrences. Their use has been associated with several advantages, such as less postoperative pain, rapid recovery, low recurrence rates. METHODS In this retrospective study, 540 tension-free inguinal hernia repairs were performed betwee...
